Day 1 - Homework Assignment: The campaign and the moment

It’s three years in the future. You’re at the airport, running to catch a plane. You run into one of the wonderful people you met and bonded with at the 2006 NOI training. You haven’t seen each other in the three years since the training, so you’re eager to catch up, but you only have two minutes to chat before you risk missing your flight.

They ask, “What ever happened with that campaign you were working on in 2006?”

Remember back to fall 2006. What was the pivotal moment in your online campaign—that breakthrough email that really put your online organizing over the top?

Go to the breakout part of the auditorium to your team table. You have two minutes to write down:

1. What was the campaign?

2. What was the breakout moment?

A trainer will join you shortly and begin the exercise. Tomorrow morning when you arrive, please join your trainer at the same table to review the writing assignment.

Assignment:

• Write an email outreach

• Can be a fundraising ask or call to action

• Due by 9 PM

• Email to your Google Group (your trainer will give you the email address)
