Building the Movement

A few of us had the idea of doing a discussion somewhat springboarding off the basement discussion last night. Below are a few questions to frame the discussion. Please add more questions, sub-questions, or answers to that question that you want to see as part of the discussion. In a certain sense this is meant to spring board off last nights basement discussion Blog Post 1. But mostly this is an experiment to see if we can utilize a flattening technology to see if we can swing an open source discussion.

How does our situation differ from that of previous generations of activists?

The movement-party distinction. WHY do the Democrats deserve to win? Why do they deserve our energy and our skills?

Process for the Discussion

What kind of process do we want to have for the discussions? A few ideas:

Moderated Discussions:::

Basically this involves a Moderator or Moderators leading discussion in one of many ways:

• Brainstorming Generating ideas or answers to a specific question

• Pass the talking stick - Having a physical object that

• Time limits of some sort
