The New Organizing Institute offers a variety of trainings in new media and online organizing. Below are some of the content areas in which NOI offers trainings:
Online Organizing 101
Are you struggling with how to introduce new media tools and techniques into your organization? Are you looking for a foothold in online organizing? This session gives an overview of the new media ecosystem that we find ourselves in, and how organizations can make the best use of new tools, reach out to new supporters, and move their work forward.

Writing [Good] Emails
Does your organization have an email program? Do you suspect that it could be stronger, more meaningful, or more active? This session walks through best practices in writing emails, creating a strong narrative arc, making sure your messages are read, and understanding email metrics. It's a must-attend session for any organization sending out emails!
Small-Dollar Online Fundraising
We can't ensure that you'll raise $500 million like the Obama campaign, but we can help you parse out how to create an effective small-dollar online fundraising program. This session gives some stats on why email is still the killer fundraising app, how to include your supporters in your fundraising asks, and how to ensure that your asks are part of a meaningful theory of change.
Social Networking and Building Online Communities
Everyone's talking about Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter, but do you know how to use them effectively? This session walks through some best practices in building and connecting with an online community, rather than just using websites as places for a press release. Special attention is given to the wide variety of social networking sites and the demographics of each.
Working with Blogs and Bloggers
The blogosphere is complicated -- but it can be an enormous help for your organization in mobilizing supporters, generating attention, and crowd-sourcing research. This session walks through the culture(s) of the blogosphere and gives concrete strategies for engaging bloggers in your organization's work.
Building an Email List
It's helpful to know how to write good emails, but the next step is building a list with enough critical mass that your emails have an impact. This session walks through a few steps toward building an email list, including both online and offline strategies in order to go back to those supporters again and again.
Moving from Online to Offline Engagement
It's great to drive people to your website, but if you can't move them to take offline action in the "flesh world," you haven't done your job. This session will cover how to move supporters from online support to offline activist, including some case studies from some of the most successful organizations in the U.S.
Best Practices of Web Design
We all know good web design when we see it, but could you actually sit down with a programmer and explain it? This session covers a few best practices in designing a website that is visually appealing, user-friedly, and reflective of the goals and values of your organization.
Developing an Online Strategy
Have you built a solid email program, created a Facebook profile, and done some good blog outreach? Are you trying to figure out how to weave all the pieces of online work together to create a cohesive strategy? This session walks through how to assess all the tools at your disposal and ensure that your supporters understand a comprehensive and inclusive narrative arc, while moving you closer to accomplishing your organizational goals.
