Whitney May

State Liaison, Voting Information Project

Whitney May is the State Liaison for the Voting Information Project, a non-partisan collaboration between election administrators and application developers that connects voters to official election information via innovative web tools. She served the Durham County Board of Elections in North Carolina for over four years prior to joining VIP in February 2012. As a Certified North Carolina Election Administrator, Whitney recruited and trained hundreds of precinct officials per North Carolina General Statutes. She also operated the department's budget and finance sections. Whitney holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Between college and election administration, Whitney was out to pasture in the Piedmont of North Carolina, milking a herd of sixty-five goats and making cheese. Election work followed, naturally.
