Bio

Trell Thomas is responsible for helping coordinate, plan, and execute State and National RootsCamp efforts. He joined the NOI team after attending the 2010 New Media BootCamp. Previously, he has worked with Focus the Nation as their volunteer coordinator empowering youth nationwide, helping them to take the “next step” toward creating a sustainable future. During the 2008 presidential election, he worked on the Obama-Biden campaign in their communications department as a press assistant in Atlanta, GA and later made a transition to media constituency outreach coordinator in Raleigh, NC. Trell graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. He says he made a choice years ago to be “bitter or better” despite circumstance and it is that mentality that drives him to leave this world a better place than he found it.
