Instead of relying on the tired old format of workshop proposals and a pre-set agenda, RootsCamp 2010 was a dynamic participant-led event that brought organizers together to learn from each other's successes and failures. The event was led by progressive organizers from all issue areas and generated a productive, fast-paced, and unscripted learning environment.
The Media Talent 2.0 program cultivated a small number of the culture-changing organizers and provided a platform for these "new organizers" to create progressive media messaging. With a team of top professionals led by New York theatre director and media strategist/trainer Joel Silberman, Media Talent 2.0 scouted, trained, and promoted new progressive media stars, teaching the tools and techniques used by professionals to create star presence. We also taught branding and self-promotion, particularly as they relate to new media and organizing. Find out more here.

NOI's Nonprofit Trainings are popular with the staff of progressive nonprofits as a way to quickly get up-to-speed on how to use new media within an organizational context. The training covers everything from writing emails, to social networking, to online fundraising. By the end of the training, attendees not only know how to incorporate these tools into an organization, but how to argue for them internally. You can see more about the most recent training (April 2009) here.
