Scholarship Awards:
Scholarships are available for a limited number of qualified individuals. In order to qualify, individuals cannot be employed by a political candidate, party committee, 527, or other partisan group. Unemployed persons and persons employed by 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) and non-partisan groups or companies are eligible.
Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of factors. Full and partial tuition waivers are available, as well as full scholarships that include travel expenses. If you wish to apply for a scholarship, you may apply during the application process. Your scholarship determination will be presented when an acceptance offer is made.
Does NOI provide meals during the training?
Yes. For all of our trainings, we provide meals, and will make every effort to accomodate your dietary needs and restrictions.
Is my lodging included?
For New Media BootCamp, Field Leadership Training, and California Advanced Data Training, we arrange your lodging and include it in the tuition cost. In most cases, participants will be paired with another participant in a double occupancy hotel room or similar. For Campaign Development Workshops and Washington, DC Advanced Data Training, lodging is not included and participants will need to arrange their own lodging.
Can I just arrange my own housing?
Because our trainings are immersive experiences, we prefer that participants stay in a central location. This is why we include lodging in the tuition fee. In most cases, participants will work on teams to develop campaigns and strategies as part of the training. This often requires late-night teamwork, and the team atmosphere is significantly improved when all participants stay in the same location.
Does NOI pay for my travel?
No. Some scholarship awards will include travel, but unless you have been awarded a full scholarship, you will need to arrange and pay for your own travel.
What if I am accepted on a scholarship, but have to cancel?
Scholarship recipients are financially responsible for any costs incurred by NOI. If you are awarded a scholarship but become ineligible or cancel, you will be required to compensate NOI for any fees or costs incurred as the result of your change, including non-refundable travel, food or lodging costs already incurred.
Do I have to pay all at once?
No. However, you must pay 100% of the tuition no later than the start of the training, or sign an installment contract with NOI at least 21 days before the start of the training.
Can I attend part of a training?
No. Our immersive trainings are team-based, and session build on one another. You will work as part of a team to develop your skills. The instruction is not meant to be taken a la carte, and participants are required to attend all sessions of the training.
