Whether the group is members of your board, staff leadership, volunteers or a mixture, you'll work together through the training to develop your organizational plan. We strongly encourage that you apply as a team.
Trainings will be held at the following dates and locations:
- Oakland, CA - August 2-5
- Houston, TX - August 23-26
- Cleveland, OH - September 6-9
- Washington, DC - September 27-30 *NEW*
Overview
This training is designed for leadership teams running value-based campaigns with your constituency to win concrete measurable change in your lives. Your leadership team may be a team of staff, or it could be a team of staff, board members, and your strongest member or volunteer leaders. We'll focus on using your issue platform to engage in electoral politics, and build power to hold elected officials accountable to your values.
We strongly urge you to apply with a team of 3-5 people from your organization or campaign-the central strategic team responsible for organizing and engaging your broader constituency. This will help facilitate your efforts to bring the lessons from the workshop back to your campaign at home.
Who should apply?
This training is designed for leadership teams of organizations working on issue-based campaigns. We will focus on movement building, and turning your issue-based passion into electoral power. Those interested in expanding the reach of their issue advocacy by engaging in electoral civic engagement work are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants should attend with 3-5 members of their organization's leadership team, whether board members, staff, volunteers or a combination.
