Learn, Act, and Reflect...
These three parts in equal measure make up great organizers. There are few moments, however, when organizers can truly pause and reflect together -- informing how we learn and act in the future.
Until now.
On February 20-21st 2010, RootsCamp will bring together seasoned and emerging organizers for a reflection of the victories and challenges of organizing in 2009. Adapted from FooCamp, the original "unconference," RootsCamp brings together the best online and offline organizers and lets them tell the stories and run the show. NOI doesn't plan the schedule -- this is all about the organizers.
After an historic presidential election and amidst battles on health care, immigration reform, LGBT equality, faith, climate justice, and organized labor, RootsCamp is the progressive community's opportunity to debrief in an engaging and meaningful way. Each session promises to be a candid, honest, and compelling insight into the world of organizing. RootCampers may come with organizing challenges, but leave with solutions, and more importantly, become part of an amazing network of dedicated progressive activists. We're committed to the idea that if we reflect together, we'll be able to learn from each other. And we need your story to help us learn.
